Battleship New Jersey

The event was held on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Event Cancelled due to the weather.

The Battleship New Jersey is considered America’s most decorated battleship. Affectionately nicknamed “The Big J”, this WWII era ship was commissioned in 1942 and saw plenty of action in the South Pacific, from the Marianas, Marshalls, Leyte Gulf, Okinawa, Iwo Jima and much more. History was made on the decks and with the big guns of this magnificent fighting ship. She was finally taken out of service in 1991.

Five decks of the New Jersey are open to the public and there is plenty to see both on deck and in the interiors. This is a unique opportunity for photography that is probably new to most of us. Join your fellow photographers as we explore this historic environment.

The ship is located at the Camden Waterfront. The driving destination should be 100 Clinton Street in Camden where parking is available for $10. Carpoolers should share the cost. Admission to the ship is $21.95 for adults.

Carpoolers will meet at Panera at 9:00 am. We will all meet on site at 10:00 am in the small admissions building on the dock, at the ticket window. We can get a group discount if we all pay together.

Tripods are permitted but may be of limited use in many areas, due to the cramped space.

NOTE: This is a physically demanding environment, with narrow passages and steep stairs. Be prepared.
