The event was held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
Valley Forge National Historical Park holds many secrets and wonderful places to photograph. Join Jim and Betsy Wilson as they lead a tour to some of the famous sites as well as stop at a few “hidden” surprise locations. Join us for a full day or just a part of it if you prefer. We will meet at the Visitor Center at 9:20 am and be ready to carpool at 9:30 am to the Valley Forge Chapel and then to the hidden gems of Wagonseller Farms and Pawlings Farm on the east side of the Schuylkill River. We will meet up at 12:45 for a picnic lunch at the Chapel Cabin Shop, so bring a sandwich and some snacks to share, or you can purchase delicious food at the cabin shop. At about 1:45 we will head out for some more afternoon shooting at traditional spots, including soldier’s huts, the Memorial Arch and the Knox Estate and Farm. So please join us and enjoy photographing the beautiful landscapes and structures in Valley Forge in autumn.
Morning session begins at 9:30 at the Visitor Center parking lot. Note this is the lower lot, not the one directly adjacent to the Visitor Center buildings which is for administration only. We will meet near the restrooms. If you have never been to Valley Forge, consider getting there early and walking to the Visitor Center from the parking lot and seeing some of the displays. The Visitor Center opens at 9am. Be at the regular Visitor parking before 9:30 when we leave to drive to our first few stops. Picnic lunch from 12:45 - 1:45 - meet at the Chapel Cabin Shop. Afternoon session begins at 1:45 from the Chapel parking lot. Rain date will be Sunday, November 12.
Please let us know if you intend to join us, as we will send you more detailed information including what gear to bring. Email Jim Wilson at firstname.lastname@example.org
