Presentation ~ Richard Donham, Vice President, introduced the guest speaker, Ken Richmond who presented "Stalking Infinity: An Introduction to the Equipment and Process of Astrophotography.”  Ken's interest in astronomy began from the heaving deck of a sailboat. Moonless nights with black velvet skies and stars that gyrated frustratingly in binoculars stirred his interest; which lasted through 45 years of law practice, sailboat racing, and decades in aviation.  This talk discussed and displayed equipment and techniques of astrophotography from the rudimentary to sophisticated. It also provided useful information for any photographer regarding noise, color and its absence, the reason for pixel size and it’s relation to the focal length of lenses. In the process, we learned a little of the physics of photography and astronomy!
