MEETING NOTES - MAY 22, 2018
Rhoads Building ~ Chester County Hospital
Meeting ~ Bob Kelly called the meeting to order and asked everyone to silence their cell phones. Bob welcomed club members to the last competition night of the 2017-2018 year. Tonight’s competition theme was “Minimalism”.
End of Year Party ~ Kayann Cassidy reminded the group that the end of year party is just around the corner. The party will be Tuesday, June 12 - 6:30 - 9:00 pm. She has not received many RSVP’s from club members and is going to send out an Evite reminder. Club members are asked to please RSVP yes or no to the Evite invitation when it arrives via email.
Summer Challenge ~ Anita Bower reminded club members that the Summer Challenge is upon us. It is a good time to get together with photo friends for some fun and photography. This year’s challenge will require members to shoot 10 photos; there will be 2 outings in June & July followed by a potluck supper in August.
Outreach Committee ~ Helen Wagner told the club that the Outreach Committee met 2 weeks ago regarding the upcoming photo exhibit at Penn State Great Valley. The theme will be, “My point of view”. It will be a juried show. Entries will be due in late September and there will be an entry fee to cover the cost of jurors.

Saturday, June 2 - 9:30 am - 4:00 pm ~ WWII Re-enactment at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum - Every year in June, the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum at Reading Airport (site of a club outing last year) hosts a re-enactment of the World War II era. There are many aircraft on display as well as actors dressed up in period clothes and living life as it was lived in wartime. Admission fee ~ $30 in advance online; $32 at the door. Carpooling is recommended ~ For those members wishing to carpool to this event, plan on leaving Panara Bread in Exton at 8:30 am; all others should plan on meeting at the event at 9:30 am. Saturday, June 16 - 3:30 - 11:30 pm ~ Coney Island bus trip - Don’t miss an opportunity to be a part of the final club outing this year! This will be an afternoon/evening bus trip to Coney Island, and has been timed so that we can be there during the golden hour of the afternoon and after dark, when the lights all come on. A few spaces are still available. Old and new members are encouraged to sign up ASAP before the bus sells out! Workshops ~ Wayne Dixon told the club that there will be a Toy Photography workshop on Saturday, 9/22/18. There will be classroom instruction in the Rhoads Building before going to a local park to do a photo shoot. BYOT (bring your own toys)! He suggested that members research toy photography online.
Tonight’s Judge ~ Carol de Guiseppe introduced tonight’s judge, Bob Lyons. The assignment was Minimalism.
