MEETING NOTES - SEPTEMBER 11, 2019

Choir Room ~ Westminster Presbyterian Church

 

MEETING ~ Howard Sundwall called the meeting to order.

 

VISITORS ~ There were 7 new visitors/members at tonight’s meeting.

 

CLUB BUSINESS ~ Howard told club members that there would not be a Members’ Forum tonight because Anita Bower, Members’ Forum chairperson, could not be at the meeting.

 

LEADERSHIP CHANGES -

          Membership Committee ~ Howard told the club that Paula Miller has stepped down from the Membership Committee.  Valerie Dunn will be chairperson.

          Workshop Committee ~ Howard told club members that Peter Gunman & Wayne Dixon will not lead the Workshop Committee this year.  Jim Wilson has agreed to be the Committee Chair.

 

CHESTER COUNTY HOSPITAL PARLOR ROOM ~ Howard announced that the CCCC will no longer be able to use the CCH Parlor Room for Mentor Meetings or Workshops due to changes in hospital security policy.  We will use the Choir Room at the Westminster Presbyterian Church for these functions.

 

WORKSHOP COMMITTEE ~ Jim Wilson has several workshops planned for the 2019-2020 year.  Please refer to the CCCC calendar to see some of the planned workshops for the year. 

          The first workshop, "Just  Me And My Camera”, will be led by Wayne Dixon.  This workshop will take place on Saturday, September 21, 9:30 - 10:45 am at the Oakbourne Mansion, 1014 South Concord Rd., West Chester, PA 19382.  Each attendee will be able to photograph anything they want on the grounds.  We will leave the park at 10:45 and drive to the Choir room at the Westminster Presbyterian Church from 11 am -12:30 pm for an insightful review of 1 image/participant.  Contact Wayne Dixon at waynedixonphotography@yahoo.com  if you plan to attend the workshop.  For further information, please click here:  /club/Events_view.aspx?Eventid=b5efc845-51ab-425b-8bfc-d732d46db9e6

 

HOLIDAY PARTIES ~ The CCCC will continue to use the Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center for holiday and end-of-year parties.  The 2019 holiday party will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2019 (not our usual Wednesday meeting night).

 

SPEAKER PROGRAM ~ Ginia Apostolacus shared the monthly speaker list with the camera club members.

COMPETITIONS ~ Bob Kelly told club members that monthly competitions are a learning experience with both themed and open categories as well as print & digital mediums for submitting images.  He said that we will have a few new judges this year in addition to oldies but goodies judges.  Members are encouraged to contact Bob with any questions 

 

OUTINGS ~ Dean Grantham told the audience that there will be 19 club outings this year.  The first outing is this Saturday!  Please refer to the CCCC calendar to see future outings.

          Saturday, September 14 - Renaissance Faire - Manheim PA (1:00-4:00 pm) ~ Enjoy an afternoon of medieval costumes, food, theater and fighting at the Renaissance Faire in Manheim PA.  Car pooling from Panera Bread in Exton will leave at 11:45 am.  Please confirm to Svenne Juul (svenne.juul@gmail.com) in advance whether you are interested in car-pooling, and if you would be willing to drive if additional vehicles are required.  For further information, please click here:  /club/Events_view.aspx?Eventid=1fcebe28-2558-4cc2-b2e8-30d953da864b

 

Sarah Staub told club members about an opportunity for aviation photography with the International Organization for Women Pilots Pennies-a-Pound event.  This will take place on Saturday, 9/21, (10-5) & Sunday, 9/22, (11-4) at Heritage Field Airport in Pottstown, PA.  Howard will email a flyer to all CCCC members.
