October 14, 2020 / Meeting Notes

The meeting held via Zoom was officially called to order at 7:03 PM by President Ginia Apostolacus who began by welcoming new members and guests. Moving next to club business, the President announced that the Club would no longer mail out Competition ribbons monthly.  To save costs, Jennifer Gidaro will collect the ribbons and mail them to recipients quarterly.

The President asked Committee Chairs to provide updates:

·         Members Forum - Anita Bower updated the schedule for the next two meetings:  At the November 4th meeting, Jim Samanen will present “How to Critique an Image.”   At the December 2nd meeting, Bob Friedman will present “How to Dress for Cold Weather Photography.”

·         Mentor Group - Buzz Mossholder reported that at the October 21st meeting, the discussion will center on two topics: 1) Photo filters; and 2) Storage media.  Those interested in participating should email Mike Keba at m.keba32@gmail.com.

·         Outings Committee - Svenne Juul reminded everyone that the 5th outing of the year, Street Photography, is scheduled for Sunday October 18th in Reading, PA.  November events include the Siege Weekend at Ft. Mifflin, Delaware and the Conowingo Dam in Maryland to photograph eagles.  Those interested in attending were reminded to RSVP using the Meet Up site on-line.

Carolyn Mead introduced the speaker, David DesRochers, who presented on “Artist Earth, Art of Landscape Photography.”  The presentation was recorded and a link will be emailed to members along with the speaker’s notes.  The presentation ended at 9:07 PM after which the meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted by Pat Rhubottom, Secretary.
