Carol DeGuiseppi introduced tonight’s speaker, Tracey Grumbach, who presented "Understanding the Differences and Similarities between Digital Art and Photography."

Tracey is a digital and photo artist working out of Harford County, Maryland. Her ongoing 6-year battle with Chronic Lyme Disease forced her to give up a career as a real estate photographer but led her into a career as a digital artist. All of her art has a direct connection to her struggle and triumph over this difficult illness.

Her artistic passion and focus is creating dream- like worlds that make the viewer guess if the art is a painting, a photograph, or something in between. She uses many layers and elements in her work just as a traditional mixed media artist would.  Textures, historical documents, vintage portraits, digital stamps, digital paintbrushes, text, scanned papers, and photographs all play an integral role in her art. She also enjoys black and white photography, street photography, and sports photography.

Tracey’s work can be seen at local art galleries including Arts By the Bay Gallery in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Her photography and digital art has been published by ad agencies, real estate brochures, and magazines including Baltimore magazine, Artful Blogging, and most recently, Somerset Digital Studio.  She also teaches local classes and workshops.

Mrs. Grumbach lives on a small farm with her husband of 21 years and their 4 children who range in age between 20 and 9 years.  She is passionate about health, Lyme Disease awareness, organic living, and the environment. During her free time Tracey likes to write, travel, garden, read, and hike.

You can find Tracey’s work on her website (www.nineacresdesigns.com), on Instagram (@nineacresdesignsart and @grumbach_girl), or on Facebook (www.facebook.com/nineacresdesigns). She welcomes email at nineacresdesigns@gmail.com.
