Outings ~ Dean Grantham ~

Saturday, April 20 - Ryess Farm for Aged Equines - 10 am - 2 pm ~  In the latter half of the 19th century, Anne Waln-Ryerss and her husband John Ryerss created a refuge for abused horses.  The farm itself is beautiful, including iconic farm buildings and two areas of stables. We can photograph them alongside these pastures, as well in the stables (no flash photography in the stables); use of tripods in the stables is under consideration. Except for the horse pastures (and private homes) you are welcome to wander the farm, including the stables.  Carpoolers will leave the Panera parking lot in Exton at 9:30 am. If you drive directly the Ryerss Farm, the address is 1710 Ridge Road, Pottstown, PA. We will meet at the office (about 100 yards into the property, on the right—there’s a paved parking lot). Other parking options on the property will be provided/described to those who sign up.  (Please let Dean Grantham know if you plan to go, and indicate whether or not you’ll be carpooling.)

Saturday, May 11, 2019 - Stoneleigh Gardens - 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM ~ Stoneleigh Gardens began in 1877 as a 65-acre estate, owned by Edmund Smith, who built a mansion and hired a landscape architect to shape the grounds.  Stoneleigh’s gardens, fields, and architecture offer ample opportunities for photography.  For further information, please click here: /club/Events_view.aspx?Eventid=bc6be15d-e0d5-49ff-9060-1070ed284d9d

Saturday, May 25, 2019 - Cowtown Rodeo -  6:30 PM to 10:30 PM ~ Cowtown Rodeo, the longest running weekly professional rodeo in the USA, provides the authentic experience of an integral part of American history.  This outing date is tentative, as Cowtown Rodeo has not yet published it's 2019 calendar. In 2018, the first rodeo of the season was Saturday May 26.  Stay tuned for confirmation of the actual date.  You can learn more about this outing here:  /club/Events_view.aspx?Eventid=497f8ead-f73d-47d3-a81f-8b47c1376b7d

CCCC upcoming elections ~ If any members are interested in running for office, please let Bob Kelly, Jennifer Gidaro or Peter Gunman know ASAP.  Voting will take place at the first club meeting in May.

The April meetings will be switched ~ the next meeting, April 10, will be a competition meeting.  The theme is “Portraiture”.  On April 24 we will have guest speaker, Jackie Kramer, who will present "Artistic Floral Photography”.

Competition ~ Bob Kelly introduced the judge, Bob Lyons.  Bob Kelly reminded the audience that silence is golden and people must remain silent during judging.  The competition theme was “Triptych”.
